Brilliant Belle respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use brilliant-belle.co.za, why we collect it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Brilliant Belle is a small online jewellery business based in Cape Town, South Africa. The owner of Brilliant Belle is the Information Officer responsible for your personal information. Contact: sales@brilliant-belle.co.za or WhatsApp 079 595 4205.

2. What we collect

• Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address or chosen Pudo locker, and the products you buy.
• Payment confirmation: whether your payment succeeded. We never see or store your full card details. Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider.
• Messages: information you share when you contact us by WhatsApp, email or social media.
• Website data: basic technical information such as your browser type, pages visited and cookies (see section 7).

3. Why we use it

We use your information only to:

• process, pack and deliver your order
• send order confirmations, tracking and customer service messages
• handle returns, refunds and warranty claims
• prevent fraud and keep our website secure
• meet our legal and tax obligations
• improve our website and products

We will only send you marketing messages (like new arrivals or specials) if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with trusted service providers who help us run the business:

• Payment providers (such as Yoco and Payfast) to process your payment
• Delivery partners (Pudo / The Courier Guy) to deliver your parcel
• Website hosting and email providers to run the website and send order emails
• Marketplaces such as Takealot or Amazon, only for orders placed there

We never sell your personal information. Some of these providers may store data on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we use reputable providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to POPIA.

5. How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes (generally 5 years), and other information only as long as needed for the purposes above.

6. Keeping it safe

Our website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences and understand how visitors use the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the checkout may then not work properly.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you
• ask us to correct or delete your information
• object to us using your information, including for marketing
• withdraw your consent at any time
